Barry is an expert in the strategic implementation of innovative solutions and technologies to effect service transformation across both public and private sectors. He has delivered sector-wide, enterprise-level change programmes across the education, health, third and private sectors, recent projects involving the British Medical Association, the Church of England, Sharjah Museums Department (in the UAE), EU Development Funded business incubator programmes in the UK, the Prime Minister’s Office in Dubai; as well as technology-enabled sector transformation across children’s services and the schools sector in Egypt.
Barry has a strong track record in public sector services provision, on both ‘sides of the fence’ as a consultant and senior manager, with 14 years in government and agencies, and 5 years at the BBC, much of this at senior management level, with board level accountabilities.
Barry is a recognised global expert in learning technologies, and for the last six years has worked on major edtech initiatives around the world, including the Smart Learning Programme for the UAE Prime Minister’s Office, and the Education 2.0 programme for Egypt’s Ministry of Education.
